Love is a simple word,
That hurts more than a sword,
Yet it cannot easily be cured,
Neither be concealed or ignored.
Time passed by,
And I thought it died,
Or at least I tried,
To make the feeling subside.
As I returned back to normal,
I tried to get back as usual,
Living life so typical,
To at least be moral.
I made myself busy,
To forget everything quickly,
Yet it wasn’t that easy,
Especially when I see you happy.
You smile like an old friend,
While introducing your girlfriend,
That left me at the bitter end,
Yet I just smile to pretend.
I’m happy, I guess?
To see you at your best,
But why do I feel regret,
Despite the so-called success?
Perhaps I need to pay the price,
For the decision I thought was wise,
And perhaps I need advice,
To make this feeling tranquilized.
Yet I want to thank you,
For the feelings I know were true,
Now I can officially start anew,
And leave the past that’s keeping me blue.
I know that love is painful,
And it is too late to be blameful,
So I choose to be grateful
For the memories that are so wonderful.
